Bleacher Report

In August of 2013 I completed the Bleacher Report Internship Program. Through the 12-week program I learned how to cover breaking news and how to write as a featured columnist. Upon my completion of the B/R Internship Program, I accepted a featured columnist trial covering the Texas Rangers. I finished my time with Bleacher Report at the end of January 2014.

Here are my favorite articles thus far:

Rajon Rondo Lead ImageThe Dallas Mavericks Should Trade for Rajon Rondo
Why: During the 2013 NBA Draft I noticed the Boston Celtics appeared to be entering rebuilding mode. At the time, the Dallas Mavericks were in search of a starting point guard. I made the case that now would be the best time for the Mavericks to trade for Rajon Rondo. The day after this article was published, Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe reported that the Mavericks had interest in Rondo.

4Free Agency Bats That Would Fit Perfectly with the Texas RangersKendrys Morales Lead Image
Why: In this article I gave the Texas Rangers four free agents that would fit perfectly with the team. One name that was not previously mentioned with the Rangers was Kendrys Morales. I gave reasoning as to why he would be a perfect fit. Since then, other sports writers have picked up on Morales and why he would be a good fit with the Rangers, including a blog post by Richard Durrett of ESPN Dallas.

Texas Football Coach Mack Brown Impersonation is the Best You’ll Hear
Why: Personally, I liked the content in this article. A friend of mine had sent me a link to the impersonation. Many of my friends were also really enjoying the audio impersonation. This sparked me to write the article so that other Texas football fans could enjoy the impersonation. I put the article together in an enjoyable format that’s easy for readers and listeners.

I wrote 89 articles for Bleacher Report from June 2013 to January 2014. Click here for my sportswriter profile.
